Statement of Intent

 

For my bus stop poster advertisements, I will ensure that they all comply with the Advertising and Standards Authority, my posters will contain graphic or potentially offensive material, such as text and images which could contain violence, cause fear or distress or is promoting anti-social behavior. This is important, as advertisements placed in public areas such as mine will been seen by a variety of people with a mix of experiences, including those who are not part of my desired target audiences, such as children and therefore could alarm or distress them. The show will be promoted on IVTX and will follow the ASA’s protocol the same way as my public bus stop posters. So, material will be limited to what is appropriate to display.

 

In order to make my thriller stand out and be successful with audiences, it must grip and intrigue those watching and appeal to a diverse pool of audiences such as men and women. My thriller is based around a police officer stationed in the city, he is offered a promotion to detective but will have to transfer to the countryside, while he is there a string of murders begin, serial killings. He is being taunted and being left clues by the killer, through mail and notes left in his apartment after it was broken into. The hook and twist that will increase and maintain audiences, is that he has split personality disorder, and while one of his personas is chasing the killer, the other is the killer that he is chasing, and the clues are his third persona trying to force him into remembering and doing everything in order to cure himself. My thriller will be titles “Prey”. I believe it will shock and intrigue viewers, qualities important to the thriller genre.

 

My poster designs for the thriller will appeal to the target audience of young adults (18-35) with a small secondary emphasis on the older crime and thriller enjoying viewers (40-60). My thriller show “Prey” will appeal to already existing fans of the thriller and crime genres, and other popular shows such as “Dexter”, “Vera” and “Zodiac”. The thriller and posters will appeal to the target audience as the theme will be constantly intriguing and unsettling while keep a level of suspense. It will include a young main character and a diverse cast of ages, races and other features in order to attract to our main target audience in order for them to relate to the characters, producing a feeling of involvement and further intrigue in the show.
